SB 73 has a good chance of passing the house. It has been assigned to the Committee on Veterans, Military Affairs, and Public Protection. That committee is chaired by Jack Westwood of Kenton Co. On the other hand, HB 222 is assigned to House Committee on Elections, Const. Amendments & Intergovernmental Affairs. That Committee is Chaired by Darryl Owens of Jefferson Co. I’d bet that bill will never see a hearing and never come out of committee.

It was dead from the moment it was assigned to this committee and everyone in Frankfort knew it. This is how easy it is to kill a bill in our General Assembly. This is how it is done. I hope I’m wrong.
