Yes you can in AL as long as you are legal to own the gun in question (as in you're not a felon or anthing like that, are old enough etc). A license is required to carry it in a vehicle or concealed on your person though.

check out the official AL site to read the law yourself. All the laws applicable to carrying arms is under 13A-11-50 to 13A-11-80. Take note however that 13A-11-52 has been ruled as superseded by later laws in court. See the following court cases for clarification of -52:
