Voice Recorder Purchase

Couldn't resist the temptation to pick up a Sony ICD-PX312 while I was out and about the other day.
Pretty impressed by its ability to pick up a clean conversation while poking out of my change pocket, but it didn't fit into the magazine pouch I was using for my previous recorder that ""mysteriously"" disappeared after I left it at my brother's house.
I'm thinking about seeing if a seam ripper will allow me to expand the arm-pocket on a 5.11 shirt sufficiently to carry there.

Good pickup on the Coby and I really like the voice activated function. Get's a lot of background noise, but that's all the recorders I've used. Battery bar keeps dropping and going back up. Haven't eaten a set yet though so we'll see what the actual hour usage is later. Got about 8 hours of recording so far.

I carry mine under my shirt from a lanyard around my neck. I don't have any noise issues. I shortened the lanyard up so it hangs higher, in my sternum region.

I just got the new Olympus WS-710M digital voice recorder plus the Olympus ME-15 tie clip mic.
Seems to be all I need. 8gb of memory or it can hold a 8gb micro sd card. Recharges by pluging into a usb port.
Plenty of battery life for a all day deal. Small and light weight. Later, Bob

I have an older recorder that has internal memory (can hold 18 hrs) and usb connection. However, wonderful windows operating system changes had made me get the mp3's out only by using my old pc ... and i won't keep it forever.

So I like the sd-card option ... I assume it saves it as a mp3 file?
