In order to ensure a safe and dignified atmosphere for all of
our patrons and library employees, anyone who violates this
code of conduct may be banned from the library premises
with suspension of library privileges. In addition, all library
users may be required to make available for inspection all
bags, briefcases, purses, containers, books and papers.
You may not:
• Carry weapons or dangerous objects, except as permitted by law
• Vandalize or steal library property
• Disregard directions of library staff
• Engage in illegal or reckless behavior
• Remain in the building or re-enter when banned
• Fight, run, roam or horseplay
• Abuse, harass, stare at or stalk other library users or staff
• Talk loudly or make noise
• Sell, solicit, panhandle or loiter
• Distribute leaflets or post notices
• Bring in animals except service animals
• Eat, use tobacco or engage in inappropriate activity
• Place feet on library furniture or equipment
• Be without shoes or shirt
• Enter with roller blades or skate boards
• Bathe, shave or wash clothes
• Enter if you have neglected your bodily hygiene
• Bring in bulky items that take up excessive space
• Leave children under six years of age unattended in the building without
adequate supervision from a caregiver who is at least 13 years of age
Violators may be subject to arrest and prosecution.
