Hard to tell by that article.
The story is pretty sparse on details but the jist is a man heard noises in his backyard, grabbed his gun and shot the guy in the backyard.
Based on what little detail is provided I would consider this a legally justified shoot (in this state) but not morally.
Any other armchair quarterbacks out there?
I wouldnt deduce from this that the guy just went out and lit up the first person he saw out back..
But what, exactly, would be objectionable "morally", other than his doing so (just lighting the guy up right away)?
Provided one makes some effort to confront someone on their property, determine who they are, if possible, and try to establish why they are there, 1st.
Yeah, I agree, not enough information. This incident probably lasted seconds. The shooter was scared out of his wits, fired and the bad guy ran away. Might be different and a little more to it if there was a dead body on the floor. And... there's nothing to say the DA won't come back and charge him with something. We've seen that before.
Hope it works out for the homeowner.
I Agree got no bus. in my yard. Wouldnt blindly fire on anyone tho
