• We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it! :) Please help by posting all issues here.
  • The forum will be down for about an hour this weekend for maintenance. I apologize for the inconvenience.

So why aren't we doing this??

Thorium fuel is an added, complexing dimension to a technology already largely rejected by the American demos.

If you will review the literature you will see concomitant molten salt and fast breeder reactors recommended to take advantage of Th. Pressurized light water uranium reactors have a good safety and reliability record and their technological infrastructure is mature.

It is precisely the molten salt that makes it an safer media, add to it that making bombs with the thing is nearly impossible, hence it is good technology for countries that we do not want to give bomb making abilities to, also at present we are on the third generation, and there has been on in constant use at Oak Ridge since the early 50's...
