Guns are bad - brain washing

Guns are bad - that is the message that is insidiously being delivered to the American public, particularly our youth. There was a time when owning and carrying a firearm was a very normal, common everyday practice in all levels of our society. Hunting, target shooting, and yes self-defense were all acceptable uses of guns. Every child "came of age" when he/she acquired their first gun. America was a mighty nation, comprised of gun owners that were taught the responsibilities of such ownership at the earliest age. Now they are subjected to a constant litany, a virtual barrage, of negative campaigning. The goal should be obvious = disarm the American people.

Fast forward to 1995, when a fear of guns had already become firmly rooted in segments of our society, and give a listen to Eric Holder's speech wherein he recommends "brain washing" as an acceptable method. We are in the middle of this plan of action against us - us being all of the people, we the people.

Eric Holder is our top law enforcement officer, the present Attorney General of the United States. He sits in that chair, not as a servant of the people, but to misuse his position to promote a personal agenda to change the perception of guns, the laws and thereby the enforcement of a gun free society. He stands along side the POTUS in this endeavor and is indeed the president's point man in this campaign of disarmament. The man will do anything, including sending U.S. guns to Mexico, to advance his cause - repeat, he will do anything to advance his cause. See examiner alerts_article.

What can we/you do to combat this? First I suggest teaching a kid to shoot - that is an experience that will make a difference. Get involved. Don't let city councils and school boards push this anti agenda, fight zero tolerance absurdities, join local and national organizations and vote!

Promote/defend your RKBA individually, one mind at a time; and collectively as a member of at least one of the many strong and cohesive RKBAs groups. Don't give up, don't become complacent, don't let Mikey do it alone.

As for me, my hands are neither cold nor dead yet. When they are, I intend to leave a legacy of freedom behind me.

It is nice to see you!

    Back to the post:

The whole post, and you have no quote of Holder stating "guns are bad." Can you at least offer-up a round-about declaration that could be construed as Holder stating "guns are bad?"

I'm not that hard to find.

One does not conduct a negative campaign to indoctrinate people against something that they believe to be good.

That and I never said Holder "stated" guns are bad. What I said was "that is the message that is insidiously being delivered" and "he recommends "brain washing" as an acceptable method"

Eric Holder is not neutral on guns. Eric Holder has not demonstrated that he thinks guns are good. Eric Holder has record of actions and words demonstrative of his position of this. I have drawn my own conclusion(s) - others are free to decide for themselves

The title to the thread is my opinion - I stand firmly by it.

I've volunteered with a 501c3 that teaches a variety of firearms classes.
They do a couple women's days every year, and one kids' day.
(The women's days & kids' days are pretty much the same, other than the lighter-weight long guns.)

A bit of lecture about safety, history, civil rights, etc., then they circulate among rifle, pistol, shotgun, & archery. For some of the smaller kids, they change shotgun to air rifle or BB gun so they're not knocked over.

The kids have a blast, & despite the long hot day the instructors do too. I think we probably have a 3:1 (kid:instructor) ratio. Some kids come back several years.

I agree that Holder has a anti-firearm record.

"Brain washing" occurs when I teach my children that firearms ought to be treated with a greater weight of respect to it's lethality. As I stated, this is a relationship, an interaction with firearms that is at issue in Holder's statement. I acknowledge that Holder likely has motive other than just interaction but that is nothing unusual, that a political type has motives that are in-part underlying.

well of course guns (in the hands of private citizens) are bad - they keep these fascist from doing what they REALLY want to do, or at least give them something to worry about while doing it millimeter-at-a-time

Details, details....what is the premise?....'guns are bad'. More so when citizens own and carry them.

I try to be objective when listening to this kind of anti-2A drivel. Throughout his speech, Holder places the blame for violence upon the posession of guns, not upon the individuals who choose to misuse the gun. His intent is clear in his statement that he would "require every teacher in every school to teach anti-gun materials (or words to that effect. I'm certain I'm paraphrasing, but not changing the overall meaning). The less obvious part of this speech, is that he seems to be speaking about the posession and violent use of guns by young people, inasmuch as he mentions young people and their infatuation with guns several times during this indoctrination. He fails to mention that the gun is an inanimate object - a tool (much like himself) - and incapable of independent action. By extension, his desire to indoctrinate today's children that "guns are bad", would result in tomorrow's adults finding themselves without the capability to counteract tyrannical actions by the government. Holder was appointed to his position, by virtue of his left-wing, socialist-"progessive", Marxist-communist inclinations - as were all the appointable members of this administration. Which brings to mind a frequently - and wrongly - attributed quote (since nobody seems able to authoritatively nail it down) of one, perhaps several, of our Founding Fathers: "Those who beat their swords into plowshares, usually end up plowing for those who did not." (B. Franklin or T. Jefferson, take your choice) Pax...

“What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that’s not cool, that it’s not acceptable, it’s not hip to carry a gun anymore, in the way in which we’ve changed our attitudes about cigarettes,” Holder said.
