We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it! :)
Please help by posting all issues here.
The forum will be down for about an hour this weekend for maintenance. I apologize for the inconvenience.
And the first quote of that website is: "Police officers put their lives on the line each and every day to protect their communities." Well, according to the U.S. Supreme Court, police have no Constitutional obligation to "protect" anyone... unless the "anyone" finds himself or herself in the custody of the police. "Protecting" us citzens from harm by third parties is not an activity that police engage in and I'm pretty sick of hearing "protect and serve." http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1976377/posts
Which is why they used the word "communities." They serve and protect the "community" by their sheer existence. Any deed beyond their existence is pure gravy and worthy of hero worship.
Why does that not surprise me one bit. Gillespie was elected by the LVPPA and I have written proof that the LVPPA doesn't think that they are subordinate to the civilian authority or the community. Guess what guys, you are. That little document called the Nevada State Constitution provides for plenty of remedies if Dougie doesn't live up to his obligations. The people gave him a job. The PEOPLE can take it away just as quickly. This mess in Las Vegas should be an example of why labor unions should NOT be allowed in governmental operations PERIOD!
EDIT: I was trying to include Footnote #2, but I guess I'm not up to speed on quoting yet.
