Glock Holster Needed

Glock 19 Gen4 9mm

I was looking at this holster and have come up short. MFG says three weeks, I can't find one.

Maybe someone else can google better than I can. I did look a the dealer list but some of these guys are out of their mind, price wise.

It is a automatic locking holster w/a thumb disconnect. Since I'm use to the old snap holsters the thumb disconnect would be good for my mussel memory so I can carry two different weapons (at different times) and still have the disconnect/snap in the same area.

The 6378 has both the paddle and the belt loop for attachments. The 6379 is only the paddle type.

Free standard shipping (2-5 days) or you could opt for expedited shipping and get it sooner. Either way would be faster than three weeks. It's also about $10 cheaper than ordering it straight from Safariland.

I have a Safariland ALS holster for my midsized Glocks (gen3 23/19) and it is one of the best out there of its type. However, I don't use it because of the way I dress. I don't tuck my shirts in (golf shirts/rugbys/T-shirts) and the shirt tail tends to get in the way of the thumb release for me. I have found that the Fobus Evolution series fits my needs best for the Glock handgun with the Comp-Tac belt holster coming in second.

I have the same one on a shoulder rig for my G19 Gen3 and they're as bulky as they come. They are loud and a pain in arse to adjust the tension for your draw. Best investment I've made next to my serpa. I found mine on craigslist with a bulk batch of about 10 different holsters for $200. As far as where to find one, other than cheaperthandirt.com or thegunsource.com, I dunno too many other places to find one decently cheap.

I like this one but it is not a locking type from what I gather-just a retention adjustment for pull. Am I right?

I do tuck my shirts in but if it is a pain to use/locking system on the safariland then I will use one of these.

I did find this one (The MFG said no only in the belt loop config has paddle build in), I like the BIG thumb area to push on: but not sure how their locking system is-is it well constructed etc.

I called and it is a paddle type and if I don't like it I can send it back. Not 100% sure of the paddle/against the body all the time but he says its comfortable and the paddle ply-able, but...... Never had a paddle type, only belt loop. I'm sure the slop won't be there w/the paddle type.

The other thing I noticed was the front sight, and maybe it hitting the end of the holster every time its pulled.

Thanks but I am so use to the thumb break type of the old snap holsters that I need to have it where my thumb does the work since my other holsters are of the same/thumb work for the snaps. My mussel memory is already there for those type holsters.

Just not 100% on the paddle but I do like the BIGGER thumb break/push button.

If you want a solid belt loop thumb break holster, look into Bianchi Accumold. Carson Armory (Moundhouse) has them in stock for the popular handguns (I'm sure yours falls into that category). Phone number is (775) 883-4409. Also, wouldn't hurt to check out Frontier Liquor and Sporting Goods (next to Big R) to see what they have in stock.

This holster appears to be one made by Israeli Military Industries (offered by Zahal.org in Israel), and is pretty much identical to the Fobus holsters. It just doesn't carry the Fobus brand on it. I own both Fobus and Zahal provided IMI holsters, and have found them both to be excellent. Pax...

Yes, the Fobus Evolution holster uses friction and angle to retain the firearm.

You'll find this is an easy adjustment for your preferred level of resistance. I have two different versions of the Fobus Evolution holster, both belt; one for Glocks and one for M&P 9 and 40 pistols. It is a very comfortable holster and lends itself to open carry since it puts the pistol's grip a little away from the body.

BTW, that's a very good price for this holster.

5.11 holsters

You can usually get a 5.11 holster on ebay for about $50 shipped. I prefer to carry comp-tac holsters, but the 5.11 made by bladetech is a good option, if retention is necessary. I wished they made the holster to enable tension adjustments, but other than that aspect, I think it is a great holster option. I usually wear it for OC situations due to the retention aspects.
