Florida has a similar prohibition on carrying during declared emergencies.

I hate to quote cliches, but I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6. I'm not saying you agree with such laws, and I'd never endorse "criminal" vigilante actions, but do you honestly think a CCW holder with a firearm/knife on him/her during an emergency situation would be ruled criminal in a court of law? All we need to wait for in FL is another Katrina (Lord knows I'd never wish that in exchange for something subjectively trivial as a statute) for a silly law like that to be changed. It's times like emergencies when upstanding members of society need them the most.

It's no longer about quoting cliches. The court has spoken and IMNSHO has spoken well.

    Congratulations to North Carolina citizens.

Now if they can just deal with that Going Armed To The Terror Of The Public crap.

    stay safe.

For the record I don't agree with such laws. Any law of the form "when you most need it you can't have it" is stupid and should be repealed.

Yes, I honestly do think you can be convicted. Unjust convictions happen all the time.

The last several hurricanes that hit Florida didn't gut that law, why would another one?

    Congrats North Carolina!!

Although, I wonder if NC will appeal the decision. Hopefully not.

Maybe this will help Florida not enforce their communistic law.
