I'm not happy AT ALL about what happened this primary cycle. The one guy I opposed the most seems to have pretty much clinched the nomination. However this election isn't going to be about a "lesser of two evils". This video really gets to the nub of how great an evil the moonbat messiah is:

So for those of us planning to stay home, write in whomever else and stand by your convictions...

I can sympathize with your view, but I would vote for the dark lord Ktulu if he were the nominee over obozo. At least Ktulu hates all life equally and will bring our demise rapidly as opposed to the slow agonizing death our republic faces if the ayalollah of assahollas gets a second term. Obozo hates US, independent Americans who resent merely being a labor resource that needs to be controlled. He seems to love foreign despots and royalty though.

We can not expect to get what we want in politics much more than 50% of the time. There are also some important legislative elections being held. Don't just stay home or write in hopeless candidates.

Now in Oromney's defense he was a governor of a communist state full of moonbats, bed wetters and idiots. He signed legislation that those fool's representatives forwarded and still managed to be far more right wing than the usual filthy sociopaths taxachusettes voters elect.. I can only hope he will he won't be as bad as Bush was in his compromising crap. Furthermore, if we keep a tight enough leash on our representatives we can stop anything too disgusting from even finding it's way to his desk.

While I don't believe the Chicago Fruitbat in Chief has a prayer, I worry too many of us will just say the hell with it and not show up at all.

My concern is that a Romney victory will put the great mass of sheeple "conservatives" at ease, similar to what happened with Dubya after years of Clinton's chicanery. Since this country is, by and large, a center-right political entity, this would have potentially disastrous ramifications. We all saw what Dubya got away with in terms of stealing our liberties under the guise of security. Everyone is much more wary of Obama, and he cannot even sign an executive order without suspicions being raised (which is precisely how it should be). Romney would not encounter that same type of fierce opposition from the mass of unaware "conservatives," as well as from the few principled civil libertarians on the left. Therefore, I contend that four more years of His Holiness Barack Hussein Obama, peace be upon him, would be less potentially dangerous than a freewheeling Romney administration that simply will not be held to account by the majority of Fox News-watching, Limbaugh-listening "conservatives," despite the vigorous protestations of we constitutional, small-government folk.

Of course, the potential for Barack Obama to nominate even more Supreme Court justices deeply concerns me, but I just cannot vote for another faux-conservative. I feel I will just have to keep calm and carry on.

I am currently trying to decide whether to vote for Ron Paul as a write-in out of principle, or vote Obama to ensure a Romney defeat.

I agree the complacency we had during the Bush years were detrimental.

I disagree 4 more yars of the moonbat messiah, piss be upon him, would be worse since I can't see the "right" passively ignoring the policies of a guy they didn't trust in the first place.

The bottom line is that we will not defeat evil by refusing to play the game, and not defeating the greatest evil there is. You start by defeating your greater adversary, and mop up the rest as you go.

If that's the case, then we may as well keep Obama, because they certainly won't ignore the actions of someone whom they [correctly] believe to be a socialist scumbag.

ETA: I might as well add that my electoral strategy is based on the extremely gloomy prospect that we may have a chance to get a real constitutionalist in office in 2016 if Obama is allowed to continue to fail and founder.

My less idealistic, more practical side, however, tends to believe that this election was the last chance to save the Republic...no matter what we do now, the Empire cannot be sustained and will collapse under its own weight. I will simply wait until that time and then do my damndest to survive it.

"I've decided I'm going to vote for the candidate who is for big government, the Patriot Act, and NDAA."
"Great! ...which party?"

The Republican Party reaps what it sows. It has sown contempt, lies, BLATANT election corruption (Athens, GA and St. Charles, MO to name two), big government, out of control spending, stupid-as-hell budget plans by fake conservatives like Paul Ryan....

This thought has been lurking in the back of my mind for some time. To actually see it in black and white gave me chills...

Cannot agree more. The failure of 2 party system has been evident for a while now, but this election shows the agony like none before. Romney vs. Obama is not a choice. For those of you who haven't seen it, highly recommend "Douche and a Turd" episode of South Park. Excellent parody on the elections.

All I know is that I will not be apologizing to my children or grandchild for the grave damage BHO forced on their future with another 4 years, because I wasted my vote of Ron Paul.

A recent news report says The Fed bought 61% of the U.S. treasuries last year. That is an insane %. Combine that with the endless spending, 16 trillion debt, the BRIC nations now looking to trade in something other than U.S. dollars, and some people believe the U.S. economy will collapse in about five years.

The spending and debt really is the greatest threat to national security at this time.

What a coincidence... I will not be apologizing to my children or grandchildren for the grave damage Romney or Santorum or Obama forced on their future because I wasted my vote on someone who doesn't take his oath to defend the Constitution seriously.

I hear you! It's all risky, we all take the risk we best feel comfortable with, right down to eating alone and knowing no may be there to dislodge them Tater Tots. My ORM checklist on this one says, avoid any possible means of 4-more years.

+1 I will not vote to afflict other human beings with the likes of those.*

In this election, the only candidate I can vote for is Ron Paul. The rest are just predators in panderer plummage.

If Ron Paul was not available, I would not vote. No one but no one can compel me to sic on my fellows some big-spending, debt-raising, rights-encroaching politician. Both parties are just two wings of the same party: Big Government.

You really don't want to hand over that beer money, do you? Most conservatives are tight-wads!

Oh well, if President Obama is elected again, I will get my fifty bucks from you in taxes :monkey

I didn't vote for him the first time and I darn sure am not voting for him this time. I will vote for whoever is running against him.

Problem is , since I am from Illinois , it won't matter because the votes will go to him anyway.

Not picking on Jayspapa here, just commenting generally and using his post to work from.

I think this is a too common problem in this country. The conservative voters will line up behind whoever is running against the Democrat candidate, and vice versa.

When the fact is, when you do a little digging, you find out both parties are just as bad as the other. They pander to different bases, but once in power (and neither is ever completely out of power) no matter which programs they push to the pander-ee's, they both also drive the national debt to the moon, depreciate the dollar via inflation, enact laws without reading them, encroach on freedom, hand out favors to their donors, etc. Neither party is in it to represent the people; with very few individual exceptions, they're in it for themselves.

The whoever that runs against the current incumbent could easily be just as bad as the incumbent. People should please take a look at the actual history--the voting records, the policies, the effects on the economy, the growth of the national debt, etc--of both parties.
