do i keep my magazine empty or can i have rounds in it? i dont have my ccl yet. read a booklet that came with my gun but dosent say anything about open carrying and what not

washington open carry?

Check your local state laws but until recently CA was the only unloaded carry state(now they basically can't carry without a "may issue" permission slip). I believe WA is an open carry loaded state..as always IANAL and the preceding is not legal advice.

Hazard, have you fired your weapon yet and have you had any kind of weapons training? Reading the book is good, but you need to go to the range and learn how to use the tool safely.

If all you have done is read a owners manual for your gun then I suggest you return to post #3. Also get into the washington forum and read previous info and ask new questions. Yes washington is a open carry state and you can have bullets in your gun, but you need to read the laws to know when you can't be with it loaded without a CPL.

yes i have gone to the range three times so far with MY firearm but ive gone to the range on several occasions where i rented there firearm. as far as training goes. other then my sister teaching me the basics, no. she told me to read the booklet and i did. I know the cpl laws and what not but not open carry. i got confused about different things so i came here

Here is a better source of information about what you can do in Washington than your firearm manual, it includes links to Laws as well. http://opencarry.org/wa.html
When you go for your CPL you will have an opportunity to pick up some of the Firearms Safety, The Law & You pamphlets.. do so.,, is good info for you to carry and when challenged as to the legality of carry... hand out..
