Nice breakfast with lots of good conversation.

Seven adults and three of the best behaved young ones around - charter members of FFOA - Future Firearms Owners of America.
Parents taking responsibility and doing a great job - Kudos!

Speaking of which, from other members' experience, what would be the recommendation for Logan's first, a plastic dart firing Nerf gun, or a water pistol ?

If it helps, he's 2 years old and we have an indoor cat which still has all its claws

Just remember that most of them look like the really cheesy ray guns of the 50's - 60's sci-fi movies. However, I do have a few suggestions you might expolre:

http://www.amazon.com/Hasbro-45610-Nerf-Rapid-Fire/dp/B00005BXJ0 - start him off right!

http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/22/nerf-dart-gun-hacked-into-pulverizing-chaingun/ - for the cat

http://www.windycitynovelties.com/11221p/4-assorted-water-guns.html - except that they tend to leak a lot

http://www.waterpistol.org/nerf-tornado-strike-soaker-gun/ - the best of both worlds?

stay safe.

skid .. never mind Logan .. I want that last one. I'm thinking the 3rd one is more like his size. Doesn't matter about the leaking, just means he'll run out of 'ammo' before I do, and that might just be my best chance of winning

Rules for a gunfight (from my feeble memory):

- bring a gun
- bring your friends with guns
- bring as much ammo as you think you will need, then double that
- don't stand there, God invented cover for a reason
- if you are not shooting you should be reloading
- communicate (if you forgot the callsign for the aircraft carrier go ahead and call them in the clear!)
- nobody is really going to care what wonder-gun or caliber you were shooting - they're just going to remember if you lost
- rules? what rules?

stay safe.

Glad everyone had fun and I hope you educated Tanner:lol:

I had a relaxing couple of days. I fixed the stumpjumper on the bush hog, then broke the drive shaft on it, graded a mile of winter rutted road and fertilized the bean field.
Zeus was feeling better and was a pain. He wanted to run around and I had Bear problems.

A visiting Bear raided the Deer Feed Sites. That's not unusual.

Then moved a mile up and climbed a chain link fence, bent it up, emptied the bird feeders and turned my grill over. If he sticks around, he gets to be a rug!

I'm snagging the photo Peter. Was this in Brunswick or Hanover?

That's just a cheap Game Camera picture TD. This is one I got on Sunday before we went to Mothers Day Dinner. It's one of my well behaved resident bears.

Great horny toads! Can't those bears read the signs? Such disregard for the rule of law.

And if you don't mess it up too badly, is there any way I could convince you to leave a shoulder roast in the SMV?

stay safe.
