So Im comming to NC for the weekend

I live in va and I am planing on going to the other banks for the weekend and a part of the fallowing week. I Do not have a VA chp (I applied april 17 and can take up to 45 days I have not received it yet) I OC almost daily in va and when I am in the car it is either in the glove box (secured compartment) or holstered. What is legal in NC can I have it in my glove box loaded? Can I have it holstered on my hip?
If this is answered some where else Im sorry just point me there and that is the end of it.

it can stay loaded, but do not put it in the glove box as that is considered concealed. i would also not leave it on my hip as that may also be considered concealed. either keep it on the passenger seat or the dash, both are in plain view.

NC doesn't care/distinguish between loaded or unloaded... Grab/print a copy of the recent flyer (in a sticky thread)... It has most of the Do/Don'ts and a great quick refresher...

just leave it holstered on your hip. IDK of anybody who has been busted for CCing while OCing on their hip in their car.... as the above posters have said NC considers it concealed if in a glove box. the gun must be out in the open like the passenger seat or on the dash, but stop hard or wreck, god knows where the gun is going. I always leave it secured on my hip and have never had an issue with the cops. I've had more experience with this than I care to admit

i dont mean to thread hijack, but speaking of the outer banks.. a friend recently asked me if OC or CC is legal on the beach in topsail...any one know if there are any local prohibitions?
he mentioned going there soon to fish
