Hi!

I am new to the forum, but not new to OC. Actually found this while looking for information on OC in Walmart in Colorado Springs.. Glad I found you guys.. seem like a great bunch!

At any rate, was out today went in to McDonalds on Murray and Platte, not a peep.. Friendly as ever.
Second store was the Fuel B's on Hwy 94 on the way home, as usual, not as much as an odd look.. Of course, out here in Eastern Co. All is usually well ..

Howdy Amigo!
Nice to have you aboard! Welcome to the forum.

Living down in your area, as you do, it would be almost unheard of to have any issues around open carry.
They just seem to take it in stride in the neck of the woods you find yourself.
Then again, I thought similarly of Parker, but somebody called in a MWAG on my last visit, so ya just never know.

Again, welcome to the forum, and keep an eye out for a meet and greet. We hold them down there from time to time,
and we're about due for another. In fact, I should get off my lazy duff and hold one or two up here in the metromess.

Blessings,
M-Taliesin

True, I have never had an issue here.
I do love it down here, I have a small 100 yd range in my back pasture, thinking of building a second berm out to 200-250.
Nice to be able to walk out my back door and shoot if I feel the urge =)

As far as meet and greets, I'd love to, I typically OC to spread awareness about firearms and firearm safety. I've had great luck down here.

I was curious about Walmart as a couple weeks ago I bought a Ruger 10/22 for my daughter to shoot (for some reason she's afraid of the Mini-14) and the Manager escorted me out of the store carrying my new purchase and handing it over at the door with a 'thank you and enjoy'. Was just odd..

Welcome to the forum!

I did not know Walmart still sells firearms. I purchased my first rifle at a Walmart in '98 and they escorted me out too. I've only bought that one firearm from them and since then they stopped selling them in the Denver metro area. I've purchased several more from various gun shops and I walked out with my new purchases in my hands. Most recently just this past weekend when I bought a 12 ga tactical shotgun.

A bit odd that you can OC in their stores, but a manager has to walk you out with your new firearm purchase. I've never had any problems OC'ing in their stores. I've even been thanked by a cashier for making her feel safe while she rang up my purchases!

Hope to meet you soon at a Meet and Greet!

Blessings,

Keens

Thank you all again!

@ Gunslinger, do you ever make it out this way?

Yep, Wally World still sells guns, but as stated they have a very limited selection and don't seem to sell many. They still CALL in background checks as opposed to submitting electronically. They were however, the only shop in town with a 10/22 in stock.. so =)

On that note, went back today to get a toolbox, and got a thank you from the person out front asking for donations for a camp for kids w/ cancer.. not a peep or odd look at the 92F. -)

Not generally. I joke with my friend that he and his wife are half the population of Rush! Falcon W-M sells guns, and has a decent selection.

LOL! Yeah, we're a pretty small town, if you can call it that =) ..
Only problem living out here is I work for a small defense contractor in Pueblo West, and it's a 65 mile one way drive.. Not too bad though as I take the back roads and typically don't even see another car until I get to I25.

I've been out here for about 10 years now, love the freedom to pretty much do what I want..

As far as where I typicaly buy, there's 2 good shops down here, 1 downtown Pueblo and a new shop in P West, I typically avoid COS and Specialty Sports, they are SO overpriced..
