@Bikenut - once again Sir, your wisdom is inspiring. :D

No knock at the militia guys, but isn't the purpose of camo to be hidden from sight/blend in with the background? BDU's in a down town environment is not the way to blend in. Business casual would be the way to go one would think....? That's what I wore & I might as well of been invisible - adrift in a ocean of dockers :p

Giving up civil rights for security is a certain way to lose both!
I wore my tank, shorts and Converse hightops! As an average citizen,I dressed the part to show that the average citizen has THE RIGHT to OC in MI! I am about the Rights of Us all with no PC socialist bondage! I carry as I AM! Fear Not those who live in PC Fear!I enjoyed speaking to Larry Pratt,Doc Thompson,John Rosheck,Brian Jeffs,Steve Dulan and all! Not one of them judged Me because it's NOT about how We dress but WHO WE ARE! FREE PEOPLE(Citizen sovereigns) in this Great Nation and State! Thanks J.F!CARRY ON!

Good God man, no wonder you have back issues! The average battle Tank is darn heavy! Kidding aside, people are free to wear whatever they like, which is a good thing. However there are those outside our camp who will cherry pick our appearance to paint a negative portrait of ALL of us. Like it or not, we are judged harshly often in the media. Remember a good picture is worth a thousand words. A bad picture MILLIONS... not right, just the way it is unfortunately.

Yeah, we've talked about that before when you grubbed out for the newspapers. Thanks for making hard on the rest of us who take this seriously. This is not a frigging game.

Jackwagons like this scare off the moderates that are the true muscle in the cause.

Personally, I was embarrassed for those who took the rally so lightly; their behaviour cancelled out a lot of good will with John Q. Public.

A few did not judge you to your face. Thousands judged us by a few's poor appearance.

I understand fully.I give credit to my fellow citizens for seeing beyond the childish games the left has been using since I began educating myself,in the 80's, and paying attention to the medias actions. The majority of citizens do not think that the average gun owner dresses a certain way because 1 out of 3 citizens is a gun owner.Thats about 100 million of us.So the vast majority of adults think little of dress and do not buy the small left minority's portrayal of them!I do not assume they belive everything they see and hear from the left! I give our fellow citizens the respect of being able to see through BS,even if they see it every day on the lamestream media. The people aren't as stupid as the left thinks they are.Thats a fact I've come to understand in the last three decades of study!CARRY ON!

Guess I must live in a high class trailer park. They all dress appropriate to the occasion.

It's funny because Glock 9 knows where I live and sad because it matters to you only!Thats sad!

Yes, I do your neighborhood is nice compared to many. Too bad your officials want to turn it into a former WARSAW PACT like Police State. :( Papers now comrade! The party (Warren City Hall/PD is watching you).

I have lived in a trailer park when I was a small child, it was not that bad except when a Tornado was in the area, then it was down right TERRIFYING

About clothing in church......... God has seen me naked. In fact... I stand before God everyday naked as the day He created me. I do not believe God gives a fart in a windstorm how my body looks because God does not judge my respect for Him by the clothes I wear... only people do that... and all those hypocrites who expect to be impressed by my Sunday clothes, or look down on me because I'm not wearing a suit, are not as important as God... although they might think they are.

About dressing to impress people... now there lies the choice since if I want to further an agenda that I have then it would be wise to use manner of dress to present myself in a way that is favorable to... furthering my agenda.

When applying for a job with a farmer if I want the job it would not be wise to show up in a Tux... and by the same token when applying for a job as a banker it would not be wise to show up in bib overalls.

So... if I want to further my agenda of making the carrying of guns appear normal and unintimidating... then it would be wise to not dress like Rambo.

Check, check, check, aaaaaaand CHECK. Couldn't have said it better. Once again, BikeNut is my hero. :D

It's not about dressing to impress. It's dressing to NORMALIZE. Isn't that the mission statement of OC groups? Desensitizing and normalizing the carry of firearms by normal people doing normal everyday things.... Sorry, the fatigues may be normal and everyday for YOU, but they MOST CERTAINLY are NOT for most other people.

I don't really think the tank and the shorts was as (or even at all) inappropriate for the rally as it was for the news interview. Of course I would rather people go business casual type, but as long as you're not fatigued out, lookin like you're on the way to boot camp, I"m happy.

I agree that we all need to think about putting our best foot forward. While I don't think "grubbed out" for the rally on a hot day is as big of a deal, I certainly think haman blew it with the job interview. That's old news, but here we are dealing with the issue of appearance again... and people railing against it. People can say what they want, but IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IT IS A LEGIT ISSUE.

I did not go with the intention of being photographed, or interviewed; but I was. Thankfully, I anticipated the possibility of being photographed and interviewed, so I was prepared when I was.

Next time, I'll wear a t-shirt that says 'Kill 'em all; let God sort 'em out', seeing as appearance doesn't mean anything.

Lets see who ends up with their picture in the paper......
