Ever notice at events: most all the media makes their focus of pictures on those dressed in camo BDU's and shoulder carried "evil long guns"!!!
I see no pics of the host or any of the speakers present. Seldom, if ever, is the pic of an "average" citizen with a holstered firearm.
Their biased agenda is truly sickening!

True- note to fellow attendees- please pick another day to take a fashion risk- don't play into the agendas of the foes of basic human rights.

Note to all- its about HUMAN rights, not GUN rights. Guns have no rights, HUMANS do. We've been duped by the forces of darkness to use their terminology. Lets switch the the correct name for the problem- we're being deprived of our HUMAN RIGHTS.

Gun rights supporters rally at state Capitol

    By Associated Press
    9 Comments
Lansing- More than 100 people turned out at the Michigan Capitol to call for a law that would allow them to carry concealed guns without permits anywhere in the state.

The event Saturday was aimed at encouraging Michigan lawmakers to join a handful of states where laws generally don't restrict how or where a gun is carried or require a concealed weapon license. Vermont, Alaska, Arizona and Wyoming have similar laws.

The Citizens League for Self Defense says it wants Michigan to become the fifth state. The group's president, John Roshek, says it's a "little absurd" to be allowed to show a gun while walking down a street but barred from wearing it under a coat without permission.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – More than 100 people with their guns on display gathered on Saturday at the state capitol to voice their belief in their right the bear arms. It was all part of a Constitutional Carry rally sponsored by the Citizens League for Self-Defense.

John Rosek, the organization's president, says Constitutional Carry simply means using the second amendment as the only guide for carrying a concealed weapon – even without a permit or license.

"We want to get all pistol-free zones, concealed pistol license laws repealed. We want to go back to the original intent as laid out in our constitution in regards to the second amendment," says Rosek.

Others at the rally say they also believe that Constitutional Carry will help cut down on crime.

"The criminals are going to have guns regardless. If they see other people with guns, they're going to be less likely to use them," says Jim Gulliksen of the Michigan Militia.

Currently, only four states nationwide have adopted Constitutional Carry. Having this as law would allow concealed weapons in places like churches, banks, theaters, hospitals and day care centers.

Right now in Michigan, anyone wishing to carry concealed weapons must apply and be approved for a CPL (concealed pistol license).

I noticed this too... overwhelming majority of people wearing jeans and Tshirts/polo shirts and OCing a pistol.. but they only show guys in fatigues and carrying rifles. I have less problem with the rifle than the fatigues. (actually no prob with rifles) One would think that the militia guys would take a hint. This happens every time. They give off the impression that they're trying to play rambo and the majority of people think they are nothing but whackos.

Here's how you should be dressing at rallys and OC events... Like a professional shooter.

Otherwise you pretty much look like this to the average citizen.

When you put the gun in the holster, put the ego in the gun safe.

It usually like a bunch of fat, middle aged white guys in too small tee shirts, or youngsters that got dressed at a garage sale, in the dark, without a mirror.

For everyone's sake, lets look at least professional and approachable. Basically, if you wouldn't wear it to church or a job interview, leave it in the closet. Or, don't come; You're not helping.

There were, however, two of my Islamic brothers in attendance. Only got a chance to say 'salaam' to one. They were dressed appropriately, to make a good impression and show personal dignity.

I think saying that if you wouldn't wear it to church or an interview or it isn't helping is a little bit of overkill. Nothing wrong with a polo and jeans or the like. It's about looking normal...I completely agree with that. If you restrict it to "church/interview" wear you would lose your numbers...and numbers are important.

I would like to thank all of you that came out to the rally. It was a great line-up of speakers. The band sounded great and the weather couldn't have been better.

I want to thank the Michigan pro-gun groups that were represented there on Saturday. MGO, MCRGOs, 2nd Amendment March, and Citizens League for Self-defense and all the behind the scenes volunteers, wives, friends and gun supporters. Thank you.

I want to thank Larry Pratt, Doc Thompson, Steven Dulan, Mike Trebesh, and Mike Thiede for taking the time to attend and to do it without financial profit to themselves. I also thank John Roshek for organizing the rally.

Jeans and a polo are fine for church; at least the ones I've been to....

That's a recent fad of trendier churches - certainly not traditional Sunday attire.

About clothing in church......... God has seen me naked. In fact... I stand before God everyday naked as the day He created me. I do not believe God gives a fart in a windstorm how my body looks because God does not judge my respect for Him by the clothes I wear... only people do that... and all those hypocrites who expect to be impressed by my Sunday clothes, or look down on me because I'm not wearing a suit, are not as important as God... although they might think they are.

About dressing to impress people... now there lies the choice since if I want to further an agenda that I have then it would be wise to use manner of dress to present myself in a way that is favorable to... furthering my agenda.

When applying for a job with a farmer if I want the job it would not be wise to show up in a Tux... and by the same token when applying for a job as a banker it would not be wise to show up in bib overalls.

So... if I want to further my agenda of making the carrying of guns appear normal and unintimidating... then it would be wise to not dress like Rambo.

Gun control isn't about the gun at all.... for those who want gun control it is all about their own fragile egos, their own lack of self esteem, their own inner fears, and most importantly... their own desire to dominate others. And an openly carried gun is a slap in the face to all of those things.

@Bikenut - once again Sir, your wisdom is inspiring.

No knock at the militia guys, but isn't the purpose of camo to be hidden from sight/blend in with the background? BDU's in a down town environment is not the way to blend in. Business casual would be the way to go one would think....? That's what I wore & I might as well of been invisible - adrift in a ocean of dockers

Giving up civil rights for security is a certain way to lose both!

Good God man, no wonder you have back issues! The average battle Tank is darn heavy! Kidding aside, people are free to wear whatever they like, which is a good thing. However there are those outside our camp who will cherry pick our appearance to paint a negative portrait of ALL of us. Like it or not, we are judged harshly often in the media. Remember a good picture is worth a thousand words. A bad picture MILLIONS... not right, just the way it is unfortunately.

Yeah, we've talked about that before when you grubbed out for the newspapers. Thanks for making hard on the rest of us who take this seriously. This is not a frigging game.

Jackwagons like this scare off the moderates that are the true muscle in the cause.

Personally, I was embarrassed for those who took the rally so lightly; their behaviour cancelled out a lot of good will with John Q. Public.

A few did not judge you to your face. Thousands judged us by a few's poor appearance.

I understand fully.I give credit to my fellow citizens for seeing beyond the childish games the left has been using since I began educating myself,in the 80's, and paying attention to the medias actions. The majority of citizens do not think that the average gun owner dresses a certain way because 1 out of 3 citizens is a gun owner.Thats about 100 million of us.So the vast majority of adults think little of dress and do not buy the small left minority's portrayal of them!I do not assume they belive everything they see and hear from the left! I give our fellow citizens the respect of being able to see through BS,even if they see it every day on the lamestream media. The people aren't as stupid as the left thinks they are.Thats a fact I've come to understand in the last three decades of study!CARRY ON!
