Have I mentioned what a great selection of Scheels hats I have collected?[/QUOTE]

I have collected so many shirts, I had to start getting pink ones for the wife! Bad thing is she knows how much I spent, by how many I bring home.

I got an e-mail today from the NRA-ILA about the issue, and the new locations of the meetings. It would look like the manager you talked to was 100% full of carp. The NRA has made it 100% clear Gander kicked them out.

Please provide a snip for our perusal

Well, according to a post from Gander Mountain "the nation's largest gun seller" on their Facebook page, they decided to side with WAVE and the Blue Fist crowd, not with Wisconsin gun owners, the man who signed the law permitting concealed carry in Wisconsin and the NRA. Let other gun and hunting groups, forums, blogs etc, know of Ganders biting the hands that feed them. They should remember what happened to Smith & Wesson.

I posted on a popular biker site I often visit, so that may get the message out to other groups also.

Here is the message;

Gander Mountain stores have chosen to side with anti-gun group WAVE and deny the NRA use of their community rooms for their grassroots meetings.

Here is a copy of the email;

Host Venue Caves to Anti-Gun Pressure and Cancels

Dear Wisconsin NRA Member:

Anti-gun activists bombarded Gander Mountain with bullying phone calls and emails regarding this week’s planned NRA-ILA Grassroots Workshops, urging them to cancel. Despite NRA-ILA’s long history of holding Grassroots- Election Workshops at Gander Mountains all over the country, and in Wisconsin, Gander Mountain has caved and canceled NRA-ILA’s Workshops at their Wausau location on Tuesday, May 15, and their Eau Claire location on Wednesday, May 16.

Despite these efforts to silence NRA-ILA and gun owners in Wisconsin, we have rescheduled these events. It is now MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER to take a stand in support of freedom and Gov. Walker by attending one of these Workshops. Show our opponents we will not be silenced!

We encourage you to join us at these new locations and prove to these anti-gun activists that gun owners in Wisconsin will not be silenced. Now more than ever it is important that you attend one of our FREE workshops and invite every NRA member that you know to attend!

While their posted policy is not to restrict legal open/concealed carry, this shows that Gander Mountain does not respect the 2nd amendment and chooses to side with a political organization whos members would not patronize their own stores. Regardless of your personal political views we can not allow this blatent attack on our constitutional right to keep and bear arms by the socialist group WAVE. There is a grassroots effort to organize a boycott of Gander Mountain stores through out the nation. While it may start with only the 2 stores in Wisconsin it may fester and spread like the constitutional cancer it is. Spread the news and keep out of Gander Mountain.

I read through alot of comments on Ganders FB page. If they are not kicking themselves right now, then they have no business sense at all. Hey Gander, this is gonna hurt!

Alrighty, I came across this thread by doing a Google search and let me preface this post by saying that I'm a GM employee and have been for the past 12 years.

The NRA has used GM facilities in the past without any issue from either Liberals or Conservatives. When it came to light that these "rallies" were to support Scott Walker, GM had to make a business decision based on the good of ALL customers. As a MN based company, they really have no position in what happens here politically.

GM's decision was influenced by one thing....our Customers. Is it fair to ALL that a retail business has to choose a political candidate? Is it fair to fill a store with hundreds of people for a rally while others come in to just shop? Its a store, not an arena.

Before you cast GM off as anti-gun. Let me provide a few facts.

1) GM just built the largest gun store in Wisconsin, full of over 6000 weapons.
2) GM expanded on that GunWorld plan to two other states, MN and FL
3) Principle owner, David Pratt, donates millions per year to the NRA and owns the largest game farm in MS.
4) GM purchases more firearms than any other retailer in the country. GM purchases more firearms than many countries military's do.

I'm a conservative who believes in the same rights as you folks do, thing is, GM shares many of those same values, but when it comes to giving a politician support over those values, you're asking for more trouble than its worth.

thanks for taking the time to read this.

Then why cancel this event last minute? These types of events have been held before without issue. Why cave to the antis? You do realize you would have had a buycott despite having higher prices right? Look what's happened with Starbucks (extremely liberal, but they follow state law regarding people carrying), Kwik Trip was pressured by the libs, they said no to them and were supported. There are dozens of other examples, but I think you get the point. Best of luck with your new customer base because the rest of us (your true customers for many years) will not be buying a thing from you.
