Open carry is not a partisan issue

As opposed to concealed carry which actually increases shootings, open carry prevents shootings. No one in his right mind will attack an armed person but only if they can see the gun. They may attack if they don't see a gun. Would this be Dodge City? No. Police and military open carry and they do not shoot themselves.
