That suspect reportedly ransacked a room, found out that there were people inside the home, then took off running. The suspect apparently had a weapon at the time. Authorities are searching for him.

med suspect pushed open the door of a trailer in the Town of Somers around 8:30 a.m. Thursday. He made the 19-year-old woman lie on the floor, and sent the two toddlers she was watching to a bedroom.

The father of the 19-year-old tells FOX6 News, the suspect shouted out, “if you do anything, I’m going to kill everyone.”

A good example of why people shouldn't just have a firearm in the house but should carry it on their person. Having a shotgun in your bedroom closet or a handgun in your nightstand isn't going to do you any good in this kind of situation. Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there who get caught up in a false sense of security simply by having a gun in the home even if it's not nearby when you need it.
