Orlando City Council agenda item...

“Approving Employment Contract for the Grant-Funded Position of Mayors Against Illegal Guns Regional Coordinator.”

The agenda included a budgetary breakdown for how a $75,000 grant from the “United Against Illegal Guns Support Fund” was to be spent.

$60,000 in salary and benefits for the “MAIG Regional Coordinator”
$2,000 for Supplies
$3,000 for “Contractual Services”
10,000 for Travel

Also attached was the Fiscal Impact statement. It showed that this employee’s salary and benefits were expected to cost the city $84,000 for the year.
It allocated $24,000 from the city’s “General Fund” to cover the grant’s shortfall...

The USPSA needs to go on a MASSIVE national campaign to develop "Three Gun Teams" in high schools. They could get corporate sponsors to provide firearms, ammo and safety gear, and start getting school funding for their teams.

Exposing the hypocracy, criminality, greed and graft of MAIG is all well and good, but I just don't understand why the pro-gun organizations in the US don't get a little more pro-active in promoting positive gun culture among Americans. MAIG is spending MILLIONS on slandering firearms owners, spreading lies and propaganda about lawful gun ownership, and crime trends. It's about time that the pro-gun business and organizations start taking their cause "to the people" using similar channels--the schools, city councils, and churches...

Wake up people--the other side isn't playing fair, and the answer from MOST of the gun-related businesses is to just sit back and hope things go our way. We need to win the "hearts and minds" of America, and the best way to do this is to develop and cultivate interest in and desire for these rights and products (guns).

This isn't a philosophical war we can win because 90% of the population of this nation has been so dumbed down that they can't intellectually grasp philosophical concepts.

This is a MARKETING battle, and we need to start approaching it like an AD CAMPAIGN to sell people something--namely Freedom, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

If we sold gun rights (and lawful firearms ownership) like cars, consumer electronics, and food, there would be MILLIONS of OCers all over the nation, and they would be peacefully left alone by cops and frantic bed-wetting soccer moms, just like people wearing cell phone...
