Just received my certification to offer the NRA Range Safety Officer certification classes.

If there is serious interest in this, I can try to get it scheduled sooner rather than later.

This is an official NRA certification, with credentials issued.

Description:

This Range Safety Officer course is designed to develop NRA Certified Range Safety Officers with the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to organize, conduct, and supervise safe shooting activities and range operations.

Subjects Covered:

Roles and responsibilities of an RSO
Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Range briefings
Range inspection
Emergency procedures
Range rules
Firearm stoppages and malfunctions.

Price - TBD

Anyone interested?

Jim is this an expiring course, or a 'once you take it, you have it' course? (does it have to be renewed every 'x' number of years/months, etc?)

Probably not the place to ask this, but sort of ...

I've been interested in looking for a class that would teach me how to teach friends to safely shoot. Not necessarily looking for a license or credential to start a part-time job, but if I invite newbies out to shoot, I'd like to know what I'm telling them is right.

I'm sure this course is much different than that, but there would certainly be some overlap... what would you consider to be prerequisites for this RSO course?
