Our visiting pastor's homily was on the parable of the mustard seed as a blessed weed as he segued to WCC's 'civility' (/scare quotes). I try to to make sure that my pastor knows that I listen to sermon and homily carefully, critically and with a discerning ear. I commented to the visiting pastor with three blessed weeds that he did not mention, that are phragmites (the very best roofing), radioactive contamination (defined with "unwanted presence" as he did weeds) and we, The Bitter Clingers, that the Occupier disparaged for "clinging to their guns and Bibles.

The Wisconsin Council of Churches (WCC) is a community of Christian denominations that covenant to engage in a common ministry focused on church unity, peacemaking, social and economic justice for Wisconsin’s most vulnerable residents, and revitalizing congregations.
The Council encompasses 14 denominations with approximately 2,000 congregations and over one million church members. Join with us as we pray and work together for the unity and renewal of the church and the healing and reconciliation of the world.
