Howdy Folks!
After being contacted by an Aurora police officer while out metal detecting late at night evening before last,
and then running into 4 more Aurora officers at the 7-11 who were all fetching sandwiches and munchies while I shopped for pretzels,
I had an encounter with 2 state police officers last evening.
I was on my way home from work and decided I'd drop by the Redbox at McDonalds north of me to see what movies might be interesting.
While checking out viddies, two officers came in and stood in line to make their order. I looked at them and became curious. The patches
on their shoulders proclaimed they were Colorado State Patrol, but their uniforms were all black. CSP uniforms are blue shirts over brown pants.
Once I got my selections for my visual stimulation in hand, I walked on over and asked "Have you folks changed uniforms?"
The closer of the two troopers smiled and said "Yes. I put this one on fresh this morning!" (His smile broadened, obviously enjoying his jest)
"No, I mean, you're all in black while CSP uniforms are usually...."
"Yeah, blue shirt and brown pants." The man responded. "We work D.O.T. and get to wear comfortable clothing and get all dirty."
Enjoyed a bit more friendly banter and I went my way, having learned something new.
Now I wonder if those CSP folks felt 'bumped'?
And of course, I was OC'ing at the time, as usual. Nothing said about that.
Blessings,
