The Obama administration on Friday threatened to veto a defense appropriations bill in part because it does not include higher health care fees for members of the military.

...the administration’s proposal is an effort to increase enrollment in the state-run insurance exchanges mandated under the president’s controversial health care law.

Well from their warped viewpoint I am sure it makes sense, after all they voluntarily joined the military and they knew that it was a dangerous job so they should have to pay more for health care since they picked a dangerous job, :banghead:

Not going to attack Dave. I did have to think about what you meant though.

I served for 5 years. The housing suck, the health care sucked, tri-care made it worse, barracks phone service sucked, and the pay was not that great.

Part of the compensation was supposed to be the GI bill after you get out, the full medical coverage, the housing (no matter how bad it was), food, etc.

More reason for soldiers to QUIT.

The government's "contract" with the military has been partially fulfilled. Retirement pay (based upon 20 years of service) @ 50%). The original contract was the retirement pay, PLUS G.I. Bill education, free medical and dental care for the rest of the service members life. However, the last two didn't happen. Our government's "word" is worth today, exactly as much as it was worth when the North American Indian treaties were made... even less than that with Obummer at the helm. Pax...
