So there are several news bees buzzing. Today ish, votes went on about giving Plazzo/Beretta a license to sell firearms. It's mostly beretta from what I understand. And they're going to have a range there.

However the news stuff I read states they will not sell ammo.

Bob Irwin is (aka The Gun Store on Trop) cited in a few responses.

Remember Venetian/Palazzo hosts the S.H.O.T. show (Shooting, hunting, outdoor & trade show). and they state how guns are NOT allowed on premesis.

I work across the street. This shocked/shocks me. Rumors are rumors, but I've checked now on las vegas news links and found this stuff....

Blah I had more - closed windows after being annoyed by their really annoying stories.

Did anyone else post this? sorry if I missed it...But this is a lil big....for our city in the south...

Sheldon Addelson insists that only his personal security detail and the ones who transport his money are armed in his hotel. This is probably going to be one of those gun stores that is only interested in selling guns, not in preserving gun rights.

This will be the same as the high-end clothing and jewelry shops in places like that, no doubt.

I don't think you will have the average guy buying their new Px4 Storm there.

Money talks.

Everything I have seen/heard the Beretta store/range is going to be in the Gradn Canal shops. Las Vegas Sands (Adelson) does not own the Grand Canal shops and have expressed they do not support this store/range. Reps from Sands and other casinos spoke at the hearing and asked the County to deny the license. Clearly they did not fall to the money in this case cause they approved the vote 4-1.The range itself sounds like it will be a rental type range, i.e. you can not bring your own weapons to shoot. The store is said to offer "high end" Beretta's in the tens of thousands dollar range.

I'm still not really understanding how a gun retailer in the Palazzo is going to make any money. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they can't sell guns to anyone from another state/country (i.e. tourist), and a local that has enough money for a high end gun most likely will not want to go to the strip to buy it, seeing as how most of us locals avoid the strip like the plague.

Someone it the hotels marketing team has found out how much money international tourists (usually from places where owning guns is illegal) are spending at the off the strip tourist traps that charge a butt load to go shoot in an indoor range. Their chief goal is to keep their hotel guests on property as long as possible.

Yep...

And... for those out-of-state visitors who want to buy, I do believe long guns can be transferred over the counter if the visitor's state allows; and handguns may be shipped to an FFL of the purchasers choice. Don't know about foreign or out-of-country visitors. At least that's the way I understand things. Somebody correct me if I'm totally full of it.

That was the old law, and CA was out because it is well known that CA law does not allow it.

The new law passed last year to conform to Federal law, and now any US resident may buy long guns in NV if allowed by their state (so CA and the usual suspects are still out.)

Except for the fact that the hotel (Venetian/Palazzo) do not own the Grand Canal shops where the Beretta store is going to be and have spoken out against the store/range. The shops are owned by the same company that owns Fashion Show mall.

Yeah, my understanding is the same...even international law allows for firearms purchase and importation, it just has a little more paperwork involved to clear customs and the purchaser has to be legally permitted to own it in their home country/province.

I had to go through this coming from Canada..you have to give the guns to a dealer in Canada fill out paperwork for the border and have them send them to a dealer here.
