Howdy Folks!
I spent part of my day drifting from one garage/yard sale to another.
At one such sale, the guy asked if I had visited such and such garage sale.
I said "no. I don't know if I did because I don't know names of folks who have yard sales and such!"
He answered "I think it was you because you open carried there too!"
At which point I felt obliged to mention "I ain't the only guy who OC's around these parts!"
I was actually surprised he didn't mention that my expensive hat was a sure-fire give away!
At another garage sale, the folks running the show said they wished I had been there a day earlier.
They said that somebody came to their sale and ripped off items without paying for them.
I believe they figured maybe I'd be kind enough to shoot the thief.
Might have detained them for the cops, but I ain't much on shooting people for ripping off a few yard sale items! LOL!
Anyhow, at another garage sale, a gentleman asked about my sidearm, and I proudly showed him my holstered 1911.
Along with the handgun, I also talked about the serpa holster and how much I liked it.
He said he had a handgun that would stop a bear but couldn't find a holster for it.
He said it was a .50 calibur with a 10.5 inch barrel.
I managed to figure out he was really referring to a Smith and Wesson 500.
Going back to the Jeep for a business card, I wrote the number of a friend in Highland Ranch who will make a custom holster for any darn gun!
I gave him the man's number and he said he'd check it out.
I went to quite a few sales and nobody made much fuss about my open carried 1911. It surely was a warm day though!
Glad I had that expensive Stetson hat while shopping!
Meanwhile, I managed to get a real nice new flip knife for only $2.50. Now I have a nice carry blade as well.
Blessings,
M-Taliesin
