OC in a restaurant that serves alcohol

I've read through the PA laws but I'm still a bit unclear on this topic.
I'm visiting from VA and have my CHP which has reciprocity with PA.
Can I OC or CC in a restaurant that serves alcohol? Can I OC/CC in a bar or the bar area of a restaurant?

While I do it drink when I OC or CC, I'd like to know if the law prohibits drinking while armed?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

To answer your questions (assuming the establishment has no policy against it):

    1. yes
    2. yes
    3. no, although I wouldn't recommend it.

Thanks. I didn't notice the typo earlier. I meant to write "I do not drink while carrying..."

I thought that's what you meant to say.

And lucky you. Maine is a gun free State where alcohol is served, which means most of the places I like to go eat I have to leave the piece in the car.

Which means if drinks are served, you can't carry? Even if you're not drinking? Has anyone in the Maine Legislature ever heard of Luby's Cafeteria in Texas? That, too, was a gun-free zone by state law.

Yep. For that matter, until a couple of years ago, Tennessee also prohibited carry in any place where alcohol is served for on-premesis consumption. If I recall correctly, North Dakota, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, New York (for those lucky or politically-connected enough to get a permit in the first place), and Maine still have a complete ban on carrying where alcohol is served for on-premesis consumption (I think most or all of those states do allow carry in places that sell it for off-site consumption, such as a Wal-mart).

It's like that in SC too. I thought it was an odd law.

Yeah, it really sucks as most of my favorite eateries serve beer and wine. I can still carry in places where they sell (cash & carry), like Hannaford's Supermarkets (State Agency liquor store) its just the onsite consumption that stops us.

Maybe if enough of us pitched a fit with our State legislators we MIGHT get it changed, but that's a matter of getting the numbers of petitioners to get them to listen.
