    grand canyon

    Visiting the grand canyon today. I know all the buildings are federal, so no weapons. What about the shuttle busses, they are government owned as well, but They have no signs prohibiting weapons. just asking for thoughts on this.

    Federal law also prohibits firearms in certain facilities in this park; those places are marked with signs at all public entrances.

    No signs on the buses carry away.

    ETA: Oh, wait ... just found this (emphasis mine);

    Guns may not be allowed on shuttle buses,
    ferries or boats within certain national
    parks, depending on the state.

    Well that's outdated;

    A permit is required to carry concealed
    weapons. Some concealed-weapons permits
    are recognized in multiple states, but many
    are not. It is the gun owner’s responsibility to
    know and understand what laws apply

    P.S. How was your trip?

    I had a blast, defiantly coming back. I just chose to leave it in my bag while on the bus. But oc'ed the rest of the time.
    I spent some time elsewhere in the state, flagestaff, and Tucson. Not a single negative word from anyone. Really like your state.
