Officer, "Thank you, citizen, now I can articulate a reasonable suspicion based on your answer that there is contraband in your car. Please exit the vehicle."
Officer, "Do you have any illegal drugs, guns, kidnapped cheerleaders, or other contraband in your car? What is your name?"
Driver, "I respectfully decline to answer any question without My attorney present, Officer."
Officer, "May I search your car, just to assure myself that you're telling the truth, no harm will come to you if there is anything in there."
Driver, "I do not give consent to have my car searched."
Officer, "AHA! Now I have a reasonable suspicion based on your refusal that there is contraband in your car. Please exit the vehicle."
So, in what possible scenario could an officer NOT have RAS given that either answer or no answer at all is "RAS"?
