I am sure many states group Connecticut into the 'north east' and don't know we are an open carry state (with a permit). Don't give up on us, we have a lot of work ahead of us, but we are making progress.

There is a poll out today in one of our less friendly papers:

The 'story' with the poll shows we are getting the word out there:

Connecticut allows residents with valid gun permits to carry them openly.

Looks like thethe real spit is on the "notice" group and the "constitutional" group...both of the ban OC groups are pretty weak. Wonder how the paper will spin the results?

Let us know, OK?

So apparently the city has been hoist by their own petard.

New Britain is the only municipality in the state that has an ordinance mandating gun owners keep their weapons visible.

Pabon said Wednesday that people become frightened when they see guns exposed, especially in an urban city like New Britain.

Bwahahahahaha!

But seriously, how many criminals in New Britain go around keeping their weapons visible? Seems to me the cops there should be running Terry Stops on every citizen who does not have an openly carried handgun, since there is reasonable articulatable suspicion that they might be carrying a concealed handgun in violation of the city's law. ("My training and my experience as a police officer for more than one day inform me that a person cannot see a handgun carried in a concealed manner. Thus, when I could not see an openly-carried handgun the totality of circumstances led me to believe that the defendant could be carrying a concealed weapon.")

stay safe.
