If only more interviews were done in this fashion. No spin, no misquotes...just a fair Q & A printed for the reader to decide how they feel.

A Frank Talk About Guns: Q&A With Michigan Open Carry Spokesman Rob Harris

http://www.jimonitor.com/article/frank-talk-about-guns-qa-michigan-open-carry-spokesman-rob-harris

Very good interview... in fact, it was probably one of the most "neutral" regarding Openc Carry that I have ever read.

The article mentioned that Senate Bill 59 essentially is trying to "make it easier to carry in those places..., where you currently can't do so without a Concealed Pistol License". Is this true?

I called the author to correct two errors. First his statement that SB59 benefits OC where in fact it removes PFZ's for concealed carry. Second, my daughter is 15 months, not 25 months old. ;

There is no gun show loophole. What gun laws do, is make it harder for the law abiding citizen, while driving the costs up. For example, a friend offereed me a 1911 yesterday for 200$ no paper trail. Get a new firing pin and barrel, it's untraceable. Try getting one in a store for that price.

That'd be illegal in MI w/o a purchase permit. Aren't you in trouble enough?

Direct deposit in the bank, then the rent and other bills automatically withdrawn. Those bills exceed the socialist checks, and must be supplemented by other means.
so... because the bills are automatically withdrawn you consider that "money not seen"? that's gotta be one of the dumbest arguments i've ever heard. when you get your bank statement does the deposit show up on there? almost all of my bills and mortgages are auto withdrawn. does that mean my employer didn't actually pay me that money?:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Thus - I have asked him many times to ask for his own sticky on this sub forum. Call it something like the all drama thread...this way we could keep all our crap in one toilet vs all over the oc house. :rolleyes:

ON TOPIC - outstanding job Rob!

The interview is extremely fair, however an anti-gun-pro-criminal type would not read it. This falls under "preaching to the choir".

Uhm you ever look at the view counter on some of the more news worthy threads like the combs case in Birmingham? Clearly people from outside of OCDO are viewing this site. I think the same applys to the news be it papers, news casts etc... if its about sex, mayhem, gossip or guns it gets read/viewed/heard. When guns are in the press there is usually an obvious bias against them. It was so refreshing to see that was not the case in this article.

Well I tried to start a thread to be an "ammo dump" for stainless bashing comments... but it got deleted... I guess the MOD wants this type of interruption and thread jacking to continue.
