Seems there is some interest in having another BBQ in a Henderson Park again. I'm thinking lunchtime on Saturday the 29th of September. Park to be determined. The WX should be nice by then.

I'll find out what a shelter runs but my memory is that it is kind of high.

Who's in?

Re: Time for Henderson in the park BBQ

I'm tentatively in, but my original suggestion for Sunday was because so many other Saturday events are usually vying for my time around this time of year. Everyone is always so afraid to schedule things on Sunday because of church conflicts, but I figured if we were in the early afternoon, that would solve my problem.

Whenever we settle on, me and the family will most likely be there.

You beat me to it. After seeing the thread asking about the BBQ I was going to start one.

No worries. I'll be there with some of that chicken and a few other things.

And the wife says she still has your tongs and will get them back to you. Love that yardbird.

Anyone have an idea what each of us should bring?

Will work that out later. Right now we just need to get some kind of head count.

I'm thinking the lower shelter at O'Callahan park in Henderson. It is near the 95/Horizon exit. Easy to get to. Looks like a shelter is only $50 with a $50 deposit.

Re: Time for Henderson in the park BBQ

IF it should get postponed AND you allow nonresidents, I'll be in the area on business Oct 11 - 15.

If it doesn't get postponed, I'll still grab some lunch with you or something. Remind me as it gets closer.

Welcome to the forum, glad to have you aboard. We did this last year and had a pretty good turnout. It was a nice sunny day and I think we all enjoyed it. It's nice to put a face to some of the handles.

I can't guarantee it but will try. If I make it, I'll have some meat and drinks to share, and I will bring my famous pico de gallo.

I'm going to bring some brats w/ rolls, sauerkraut and mustard. Anyone planning on contributing food should think about the children; burgers, hot-dogs and mag-n-cheese are big favorites of the younger ones!
