My brother and I were fishing at Charles Mill. State Wildlife did a Fishing Lic check... noticed my weapon (I ALWAYS OC) and asked for my "permit". I informed him that I was legally open carrying, and was not required to have a "licence" to do so. He asked if I was sure, then said he would look up the relevant laws, just so that he could make sure he knew EXACTLY what the law was, but he made no attempt to ask for ID again or anything. We then discussed the low water level and the fact that me flicking a cigarette butt into the lake was technically littering... :banghead: I'm a dumb-ass! "Pack it in, pack it out!" I waded into the water to retrieve my litter and we continued talking until some drunks went to fish a ways up and he took his NVG to see if they were fishing legally. Anyhow, talked to him again a few weeks later and he thanked me for pointing out the law to him, guess their office is going to hold refresher on it at some point to make sure they ALL know what's up. I wish ALL LEOs were so cool!

PS: I've been lurking for a while now, but I'm bored at work, so wanted to post that there ARE some positive encounters!

OMG, this is too stupid to make up... we had two nice Cats on the stringer, and my brother (MISTER Fisherman!) forgot to put the end in the friggin' ground! I notice the stringer floating away, MAN was I pissed! We both tied on snagging rigs (big trebles, big weights) but couldn't get it... I was BEYOND pissed!
