combatting military suicides: Limit access to private weapons?

    It's not how but why.

With nearly half of all suicides in the military having been committed with privately owned firearms,
the Pentagon and Congress are moving to establish policies intended to separate at-risk service members from their personal weapons.

That's the US military for you. It's the trial run for a socialist state. And they will keep pushing to see just how far they can go. I know, medically retiring after 13 years in the Army.

They can either just kill themselves or they can try to take many more people with them in combat.
Provision for free medical attendance and nursing, for clothing, for food, for housing, for the education of children, and a hundred other matters, might with equal propriety be proposed as tending to relieve the employee of mental strain and worry. --- These matters obviously lie outside the orbit of congressional power.
