Post Heads Up! ---> Alabama Legislators File Bills to Allow Firearms in Cars

Here is the perfect opportunity to get the permit requirement to carry in a car or truck removed the books. I've called both Ford and Bedford's offices this morning thanking them for their efforts and asking that they remove the permit requirement to carry a firearm in one's car or truck.

There is no reason that one can carry openly down the street and not be able to transport a firearm in the glove box or even holstered on the hip while going about their private affairs in their own auto or truck.

So take this opportunity and call the state rep and senator for your area and ask them to support Ford and Bedford's bill and also ask them to remove the permit requirement to transport\open carry in your own car or truck.

    Thanks!

(MONTGOMERY, Ala.) Legislation has been pre-filed in the Alabama House and Senate that would prevent employers and property owners from establishing policies that would prevent workers from transporting and storing firearms and ammunition in their vehicles.

The legislation by Democratic Rep. Craig Ford of Gadsden and Democratic Sen. Roger Bedford of Russellville would also reinstate and provide compensation to employees who have been fired for storing or transporting firearms on private or company property.

Bedford said he believes gun owners should be able to keep their firearms out of sight and locked in cars to provide protection as they drive to and from work.

Similar legislation in Alabama and other states has been opposed by some business interests that claimed such decisions should be up to employers and not lawmakers.

Great idea. I'll do the same.
There was a time that the pieces fit, but I watched them fall away, mildewed and smoldering, strangled by our coveting. I've done the math enough to know the dangers of our second guessing. Doomed to crumble, unless we grow and strengthen our communication. -Tool, "Schism"

Sure thought this thread would get more attention than it did. Also thought that the requirement to possess a cwp to carry inside one's car or truck was something that most who post here from Alabama wanted removed.
