PA, LA and MT are not a problem...They all allow unlicensed OC and you can have anything you want...including those things that need federal tax stamps because of the NFA34. All good states for the firearm owner.
Now, NY???that is a totally different story. IF your AR/AK or other "banned" evil looking rifle and high capacity magizines were obtained by you prior to the 1994, they are ok...after, not ok. in general, Clinton's AWB did not expire in NY state, becasue they have their own copy.
Other than the "banned" weapons most long guns are ok as "firearms" as defined in PL 265 and PL 400.00 are basically only pistols...NOW, this is for NYS ONLY, NYC has a totally different set of rules which includes licenses for long guns.
You may NOT possess a pistol in NYS or NYC without a license, and that particular pistol is on the license...that means, you cannot even shoot your buddy's pistol, unless the MN/SN of that pistol is on YOUR permit. A premisis permit is fairly easy and inexpensive, but you normally have to reside in NY for 6 months to apply, and it will take another 6 months for the permit to be issued....this is a license to possess that pistol IN YOUR DWELLING ONLY. In NYC it takes longer and cost almost $400 PER WEAPON every 3 years.
If you actually want to take your pistols out to shoot them....well that is an even different story...good forum...
