Emily Miller to speak at VCDL meeting in November!

Emily Miller, the Washington Times's reporter who has been writing a series of articles about Washington D.C.'s horrible gun-control laws, will be speaking at our November 8th membership meeting in Annandale! Emily has almost single-handedly pushed the D.C. City Council into improving laws regarding the purchase and ownership of handguns.

Emily also just received the Second Amendment Foundation's "Journalist of the Year" award for those articles.

The meeting is open to the public and is held at the Mason Government Center in Annandale. Fellowship starts at 7:30 PM and the meeting is called to order at 8 PM. The meeting will adjourn at 9:30 PM, with many heading to a local restaurant for continued fellowship.

I'd like to be there to hear her presentation but the round-trip driving distance would be a bit much. Maybe she'll allow her remarks and the Q&A after to be taped and distributed online. This is, 'on the record,' correct?

Hopefully Phillip will also be successful in convincing Emily to be a keynote speaker at VCDL's 2013 Lobby Day Rally in Richmond. Then more of us can hear DC's most vocal gun writer speak in person.

Sadly, Emily Miller lost her grandmother last night and will have to postpone her talk originally set for Thursday's membership meeting in Annandale.

And, in another piece of sad news, Executive member Ed Levine lost his mother this morning.

VCDL gives its condolences and prayers to both Emily and Ed in this difficult time.
