Nandos Chicken great OC story

So I am at Nandos in old town. Some random socialist tells me hes uncomfortable with me carrying a gun. I tell him thats his personal issue. He says it is and if you stay I am leaving. The Manager Mike is standing right there and tells the guy to have a nice day I have the right to carry. Go to Nando's OC and tell mike Geoff spread the word.

Geoff - kudos on how you handled the situation. Merely acknowledge that the problem was his and go back to eating good chicken.

Will you consider bringing a group of OCers to Nandos - showing Mike you appreciate his handling of the matter by bringing him more business?

Ed - can we have a postcard, please?

stay safe.

That was my exact intent with my post. I would enjoy having a meal and meeting some fellow OCers. I work in Old Town so a lunch or Happy Hour would be great. I know mike would appreciate it as well.

For now, I'm not working. Pick a day; I'd go to lunch.

It always amazes me that people who are uncomfortable with someone carrying a gun, will sometimes confront the person.
Exactly! I wonder if anyone has ever steered the conversation that way?

If you were in a restaurant with a dozen guys sporting all sorts of gang tattoos... I bet nobody would ask them to leave because they were "uncomfortable!"

Friday is good. I am thinking 12-1:00 range. Let me know what works. If we get a number of people I can reserve a big table.

It's been my experience that short-notice events tend to get fewer respondents (as do weekday lunchtimes). But Friday works for me. I'll post it on my facebook page as well. Even if it starts small, it says "thank you" and future gatherings may be larger.

How big is the place? Seems to me if it used to be a Popeyes, probably not very big.

Its a decent sized place. The reopened the upstairs as well and do have a couple larger tables that accomodate 10. They really did a good job on the renovation.

Not opposed to after hours or another day as well. Im think I am getting addicted to the chicken and they will be on a weekly rotation. Its very good and they have many Gluten free options.
