I went to my appointment at Dr mosses office at southside medical in tulsa. I have been going there every month for the last two years and noticed new computer made printed signs that read, "no weapons allowed at this facility!" so i asked about the reason behind it the conversations were as follow.
First with nurse.
Me. What made y'all put them signs up?
Nurse. What's that?
Me. The no weapons allowed.
Nurse. I think they passed a law stating you can carry weapons on you, that's what made them put them up. Nothing happened.
Me. I used to carry mine in here all the time before November 1st concealed.
Nurse. If your used to carrying it just keep it in your car or something.
Me. Yeah that would be ok, but what if someone breaks into my car, now they have my gun.
Nurse. Yeah well i never thought of that before.
Me. Is he just against them or....
Nurse. He just does not think its a good idea to have them in the building.
Me. Well the bad guys just ignore those signs.
Nurse. I just try not to get involved with any of that.
Me. Well i guess ill talk to him and ask him why.
Next conversation with the Dr.
Dr. What's going on big fella?
Me. Not much... When did you decide to put them signs up?
Dr. What's that?
Me. The no weapons allowed signs.
Dr. Oh no weapons allowed, no weapons. What about it?
Me. How come you decided to put them up?
Dr. Well....how long have they been up there?
Me. Uh well i just noticed them today.
Dr. Well we had a fellow that was a guard, he was a security guard who claimed to be a police officer, and well i won't mention his name, he used to carry his gun in here and show off with the gun, he was kind of a smart azz. I said ok no guns in here and he wanted to argue with me and i said well...either you don't carry the gun, or don't come in here and if you don't want to do that, then don't come back. And he made a big deal out of it to the point of legal issues i just uhh....
Me. Did this happen recently or??
Dr. No its been a while.
Me. Oh.
Dr. Breath in and out (cut me off and doing check up now) well he was kind of a i think he was touched in the head about having the power and by the time the legal...
Me. So there's no way you'd reconsider having people with permits to conceal them in here?
Dr. No i don't want any guns in here!
Me. None at all?
Dr. No none, no!
Me. Ok?
Dr. There's no reason for it!
Me. Well.. For protection!
Dr. In my office?!
Me. Yeah, well not from you but you know anything can happen.
Dr. Yeah anything can happen anywhere, but i mean come on!
Me. Well what about .....
Dr. Well ok now that we have that settled, you have a good rest of the day and we will see you next time and have a good thanksgiving.
Me. Yeah sure maybe!
