FFL in Metro Milwaukee for gun transfer.

I have a gun I want to transfer to my father-in-law who lives in metro-Milwaukee.

I called The Shooter's Shop and found out they charge SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS for a gun transfer PLUS $20 for the background check!!!! :shock:

Have I just been out of Wisconsin for too long or is this as nuts as I took it?

The shop I work for in Georgia charges $35 for a transfer and $10 for a background check (unless you have a carry permit, then you pay nothing).

Is there an FFL in metro-Milwaukee who charges a more.... REASONABLE fee for a transfer?

Because I live in Georgia and he lives in Wisconsin.

I cannot legally ship it to him.

That link is VERY helpful thanks! Found one I can call that does it for $33 INCLUDING the BG check!

I had my did my transfer for my BCM with this guy in Oak Creek. Does it out of his home and a really nice guy.

IIRC, he's charging slightly more than that, hasn't updated his prices, but they're not bad.
And he only passes on the $13 state BG check fee, doesn't add to it.
Plus, you can have a meal or a shake while you fill out the paperwork, since he operates out of his other business which is a fun little diner.

If you put 53005 into the gunbroker search, there's a co. that says they charge $35 for pistols, inclusive. They're in Brookfield.

I didn't realize how much SS charged until I was looking at Gunbroker for someone with a FFL to do the transfer on my AR.
