While the Bill as a whole might seem great, since it moves all applications and approvals to sheriffs and secretary of state. And then eliminate gun boards as well.

If not familiar with the law, The law is set to Eliminate PFZ for CPL carriers who cant Conceal Carry in PFZ. They would then have to take another 9 hour course, expel more ammo in the class and pay 100-200$ for the class! On top of paying the sheriffs office some other fee to get a new issued CPL with Exempt from PFZ Box Checked.

Sounds great right, WRONG.

In the state of Michigan Legal CPL carriers are ALREADY legally allowed to Open carry in PFZ here where CC is not permitted. This bill would flop the law and make Open carrying in a bar, hospital, sports arena, church now Illegal by law, Unless given permission by the property Owner!

This Bill should not toss OC'er out the window to better suit CC'er. If a person CC wants to carry in PFZ then take the class, But im an Open Carrier, and do so in PFZ all the time without anyone giving look or care in world.

This bill just passed Senate Yesterday, and Conceal Carriers are Praising this and its not Right to sacrifice one right to better another!

That is the old Bill (3/2012). Review the revised Bill as passed by the Senate (11/2012). The SOS is not, or part of, the licensing authority as originally drafted.
