Administrators, please archive this, print it up, frame it, have it bronzed, and sent to the library of congress....Peter actually said encourage and permit in the same post.....

See, I told you I would keep up with VA posts....We do Love you Peter...Merry Christmas.

I've never said there was anything wrong with having a permit (Other than needing one at all) My best friends have permits, my Wife has a permit at my insistence. I had a permit until it expired.

What is wrong is using the permit to create a special class of gun owners.

Statements that CHP holders shoot more and better than non CHP holders or are more trustworthy or are more ethical hunters and pushing for special privileges do nothing but make the anti's stronger because we have a rather large percentage of the gun owning population taking the same "Kill the Bill" position as Saslaw and Marsh.

A CHP is just permission to hide the gun....nothing more should be considered.

Even states that have it right like Arizona and Alaska, have permits so people like Tanner can travel to other less enlightened states.

There is some justification in using the CHP to get guns in schools but if you go out of your way to insult non CHP holders when doing it, expect a lot of back door lobbying.

Good one on one but not for multiple assailants.
Expensive.
I saw a M26 like mine on Va Gun Trader for $700.00 the other day. The X series starts around $900.00 but I think the C series is affordable and doesn't look like a gun.

Bear Spray and an ASP would be my recommendation.

Big +1

Bear spray is good for multiple attackers and not being LEO or DOC I don't think you are required to avoid boney body parts with the baton.

Caution - check the laws of each state as CCing these may not be legal some places. Neither premption nor reciprocity will likely help you and OC may even be restricted.

Drifting off topic slightly Grape, an interesting fact I found years ago talking to older country families is that young ladies were told to carry a small bag full of black pepper with them when unescorted. If given unwanted attention, they would throw a handful in the persons face and run to the nearest area with people.

Black pepper was common by the pound in most farms because it was used to keep flies from laying eggs on meat that was being cured. They had wooden bins full of it and the ladies would just scoop up a bagful before going out.

Back to 2012 (unfortunately:lol:)

Young ladies with pepper and their daddies with rock salt...........in their shot guns. Makes a good combination.

And some think the new ways are better, but are they really?

I assumed that there would be simillar restrictions on tasers. So ill include some kind of repelent spray also. Plus considering a hand tazer
...how am i gonna carry all of this!
By the way plans to visit family fell through. Where are you guys having breakfats?

River City and its going to rain so I'll be there.
If you're talking about a stun gun, save your money. The only way to make them work is to get the fellow in a headlock and hold it on his neck for way too long.

My info is way out of date but the last time I was in California using bear spray as tear-gas or possessing a baton (tasers come under batons) would earn you a felony charge.

Not here Half Life. Tasers and Batons are fine open or concealed (Without no steenkin permit) Blackjacks are not.

Bear spray is OK but they can't sell it for use on humans (Federal Law) but possession and use are OK in Va.

Dispensing pepper or other gas (not including too many beans) in a public area is a big no, except in self defense.

Everything is illegal in California. Best for Tanner to stay out of there!

I was only bringing up California because Tanner is a trucker. Anyone with half a brain would avoid California unless they were forced to go.
