How many ARs are being made a day.

Does any body here have a good number on the number of new ARs being made each day at 5000 a day (just a guess)

That would be 150000 per month in 6 months it would be 900000 in a year that would be 1825000 new ARs.

So if it takes then a year to pass a bill there will be that many more ARs out there.

There should be catch up to sales. When who knows.

I don't klnow how one would get a good number on the total manufacturing output from all the various manufacturers, but I was in my local gun shop yesterday and today, and both days it was packed. AR's and AK's are selling like AR's and AK's - they can't keep 'em in stock. The south wall, which usually has about 80 "black guns" displayed, had about 15 on display today, down from yesterday. They said they are only ordering AR's from 3 manufacturers right now (Rock River is the only name I can recall) because those 3 are the only one's willing to take the guns back if the left-wing, "liberal-progressives" get their way in Congress and there's a ban. The stores handgun displays were about 85% empty also. Feinstein wants to extend the ban to certain handguns as well as "black guns", and reduce the "test" for rifles to one component similar to military weapons to meet the ban requirement. Like most of the elitists, she has hers, and to hell with the hoi polloi! AR's are now running $1,900+ in that store - it appears that the 3 manufacturers have hidden an "insurance charge" in their pricing now, just in case there isn't a ban. Pax...

P.S. Couldn't "one component" be a barrel, a trigger group (or a portion thereof), or a butt stock?? How ridiculously ASININE!!

"One component" would be like having a pistol grip or threaded barrel (so that you can remove your flash suppressor and put a different one on or a can). Under the old one it took two of these specific components for it to be considered an "assault weapon" so this change would nail all sorts of guns. Oh and don't forget that last I heard it also included stocks with a thumbhole so you couldn't do that to get around the pistolgrip either.

Before the day the impotent 1994 AWB took effect, there was plenty of time to produce countless normal-capacity magazines. Production of non-affected parts was discontinued by some firms to stockpile the inventory of parts that they would not be able to manufacture after the start date.

The hysteria (like now) drove prices through the roof, but most common magazines and firearms were in plentiful supply.

While I'm betting there will be no new AWB, the same thing will happen again.

I am in agreement with you MAC. I do NOT believe we will see a new AWB anytime soon.

Diane is a vicious anti-gun nut and those that she represents (the majority anyways) are the same way, so she knows she can attempt to repeal the Second Amendment without worry. How she can do so and not get charged with treason or impeached is beyond me (actually is isn't, I know most congressmen are controlled by very wealthy individuals), but she can.

The MAJORITY of our Congress will have to face voters who will NOT appreciate having their Second Amendment rights completely infringed upon, and they [congressman] know what happened last time they tried this AWB scheme. Those like Joe Manchin will just have to be a one-term senator if they decide to go along with this nonsense.

We however must reamin vigilant! If it seems like this might actually have a chance at passing, THEN it will be time for us to rise up and show the Federal Government our SPIRIT OF RESISTANCE, as Thomas Jefferson stated was absolutely necessary to maintain a free society.

I see that several of you folks have much more faith in the morons and sheeple that are "leading" our country than do I. The current administration is overflowing with left-wing socialist-"progressives", Marxists, Communists and others that would see our Republic crippled, if not destroyed. The picture we now have is one of reducing the size - and budget - of our military, and simultaneously crying out to essentially disarm the citizens so they cannot defend either themselves, their families or their country. To weaken our military is to encourage those who wish us harm to increase their endeavors. Attempting to eliminate the relatively ineffective personal weapons of private citizens is almost a guarantee that those who wish us ill shall take actions against us. Our armed populous would probably create the world's largest defensive force, even if they were relatively under-armed. Unarmed, Americans would soon become the world's largest collection of slaves. Just my thoughts. Pax...
