CULLERTON TO INTRODUCE NEAR TOTAL GUN BAN ON JANUARY 2ND
The ISRA has learned from a credible source that Illinois Senate President John Cullerton will introduce a so called “assault weapons” ban on Wednesday when the legislature returns for its “lame duck” session. Cullerton hopes to ramrod the bill through and get it to Governor Quinn for signature by Friday. If he is successful at doing so, nearly every gun you currently own will be banned and will be subject to confiscation by the Illinois State Police.
Based on what we know about Cullerton’s bill, firearms that would be banned include all semiautomatic rifles, pistols, and shotguns. Pump action shotguns would be banned as well. This would be a very comprehensive ban that would include not only so-called “assault weapons” but also such classics as M1 Garands and 1911-based pistols. There would be no exemptions and no grandfathering. You would have a very short window to turn in your guns to the State Police to avoid prosecution.
Here is the phone number for the a55clown that is attempting this ban: 773-883-0770
I don't live there but I did call and said that being from WI, if any attempt is made to vote on his ban is made I will not be spending any more money in IL. I'm sure he's going to be hitting the big old delete button on that one - but it can't hurt.
So what this clown is saying is that he wants to extend the current Chicago ban on forearms to the rest of the state?
Yeah, that Chicago gun ban worked so well that it made them the murder capitol of the nation.
In an update reliable sources have stated that included are range restrictions that limit use to members unless the range is run by an FFL. New state regs on FFL's.
I think they are throwing everything at us hoping most of it will stick post - CT shooting. They are counting on the new veto proof majority of dems and the lame duck session to get it done. We are hoping we keep enough downstate dems to hold the line.
We must keep them from twisting our recent victories into an illusionary right.

So much for getting concealed carry passed this year in Illinois. I'm on the other side of the country. I wish I could help. Why did my employer move to Chicago again?
The arms manufactures in IL have stated if this bill passes they are out. They already have their eyes on another state...Welcome to Wisconsin fellas, nice to have ya.
The info and phone number was posted on thetruthaboutguns.com and according to the comments on that article the line has been busy and mailbox full since this morning.
Disgusting. Personally I don't need anymore reason to try these people for treason and, upon a guilty conviction, build some gallows right down on The Pier to string them up at.
I think its reached that point where we just have to say "NO", you will not disarm us.

For the lame duck session anyway. They pickup again mid month for the next session. The picked up a couple more Chicago style Dems in the election so they may try again. They may gain a couple dems but the won't have the lame duck turncoats either so maybe it will wash out. We will see.
Keep us in the loop brother!
Thank-you to all that gave the State Senators a piece of their minds. We jammed the phones and message system!
Of course just when you think it is safe, The house leadership (Madigan) has gutted and replaced the language in a bill already passed in the senate in an attempt to do the same thing that just stalled in the senate. SB2899 will have an amendment making it an AWB/semi-auto & magazine ban. Hearings will be Sunday!
House recessed, they stated no new gun control in the veto session. They will revisit in the Spring.
Thanks to all that help literally overwhelm their attempt.
