wonder how this would be applied to the SC ruling that IL. can not ban guns?

That was not the SC ruling, not exactly anyway. This bill carefully lays out the justification in light of the McDonald ruling, to only restrict unusual, uncommon, or especially dangerous weapons. The fact that it bans virtually every semiauto in existence is merely accidental, I'm sure.

Illinoiscarry.com had it posted on their front page over the weekend that they had killed the gun ban at the State level. Anyone see anything further to confirm?
