Well,,,

I will go to the rally in Olympia!!!
we can have coffee anytime...

The rally on th 19th is not just an Orphan thing,
It is a national movement, to take place in Every State capital,, this is a Biggie!!!

I also hope that those of you with other contacts, spread the word!!

I will be open carrying an FNP45 and a 45 cal Kentucky rifle.

Well said Bob. This is nothing I planned I just started the thread to let everyone know.

I posted on Spokane Gun Trader as well.

We need to have several thousand show up to make an impression and to stop new legislation.

I expect to be in Olympia several times this year to attend hearings. If I can make it from Spokane and either have a really really long day driving back and forth or spending the money to stay over night surely you people that live in the Seattle area can show up a few times. Take a vacation day iif you need to but show up if you value your 2nd A rights or Section 1 Article 24 state rights. Its now or never folks.

I personally had 1 immediate thought, simple, 2 words, but then remembered we will probably be on camera. I would hope everyone would keep it neat and keep it clean and keep it relevant.

That was my concern, I don't want to come off as a nut just someone concerned for my rights. I almost do not want to bring a sign "less is more"?

is it just going to start on the capitol campus?

Wife will be working, but me and the kids should bbe able to come down, is there a rally point or some such? I have never been to the Capitol and would like some better information on where to park, etc.

There is usually a lot of parking at the capitol its self, but depending on attendance that may change. there's always capitol lake/waterstreet just a short walk from the capitol.

not sure about the rally point or even time lol

anyone have a solid time and place?

So rifle OC will be acceptable this time? Then comes the question, which one should I carry? I am thinking AR15.

Will we be there to scare or make them aware? jus sayin.
I think all weapons are appropriate, but hearts and minds, education and allaying their fear of us may be to our advantage. We are the "new normal".

This is a Picture of Orphan Myself(in Black) and a few others on the capital steps. This was during the so called assault weapons ban hearing a couple of years ago.You don't see me much on here anymore because I got sick of the trivialities. Some say i can't make it because of gun show or meetups etc.Don't you people realize we don't start showing en mass there will be no more meetups or gun shows .No more coffee meets etc. Approx 300 to 400 showed up for this hearing and only 13 signed to speak in favor of the bill . C ease fire's Ralph Fachetelli tried to have us disarmed and removed from the building The state patrol told him we were causing no problems and were within our rights. You people need to leave the petty excuses and start showing some balls .Many of us have been doing this for awhile and know what it takes. We buried that ban because so many showed. This has national implications in every capital.A show of strength a demonstration that we will absolutely not give up our guns nor our rights nor the Constitution of the united States. You get everyone you know etc and you get down there lets see who here is all talk and no show.

Fear and loathing (of guns) by an anti-gunner in Olympia

It took a while to track down all the witnesses...along with a key source that shall remain unidentified.

Thanks for the extended information. My problem is that I need to prioritize when to attempt to go, and when maybe not. My wife is ill, (and has been for the last 10 years)and I am normally her sole caregiver, so I have to plan on how she can be taken care of while I drive 350 miles down to Oly, and then 350 miles back.

It is not impossible if it is really an important meet, but it is very difficult.

The question comes up because of the other members posting photos of themselves with long guns.

I am not the best at social graces and so I ask honestly what members plan to do. If it is a long gun event then I will bring one, if it would be a social faux pas, then I would not bring one.

This is also to address an attack on long guns as well as handguns. Seeing the photos of other members with long guns, does give sway to the idea of bringing one.

I have always rejected the idea of bringing a long gun to these events but I am planning on carrying one, slung, bolt open, to this event.

Thanks for the heads up.

I am a little hesitant after I had a member on here stab me in the back over OC of a long gun. I am not going to say who it was as he does seem to be generally liked by most of the member whom have met him.

If you dig through some old threads you can figure out who it was. Or PM me if you really want to know.

You've always appeared to be on the level and so because of that I might just join you with the long gun OC.

I know who you are talking about, that was then this is now. I agreed then I do not now, times change and so should we.

Alright, would you suggest an old WW2 long gun in wood, AR15 clone, hunting rifle, or shotgun?

I may bring a rifle just because I can't legally OC a live handgun, however I may decide to bring my blank firing colt police mock-up as it has a sealed barrel and is not a "firearm"

If I do bring a long gun, i'll do either my .22 Marlin or .303 Enfield No.1

I wouldn't bring an AK clone or AR-15. just becuase something is your right doesn't mean it can't hurt your cause. Maybe if you show up dressed nicely or in average clothing it may be ok in that regard. but showing up in full camo or shirts saying "time to water the tree of liberty" or something like that wouldn't advance the 2A.

Really though, do whatever you want, I have no authority to tell you what to do or what not to do, I think dressing in a semi-presentable fashion with a plain jane rifle or a wood wrapped gun would make a more positive statement then a tacti-cooled out AR while dressed in cammo or controversial slogans. Just IMO
