Hello,
Going to be in your beautiful state for a couple of months.
I wanted to know if I would be good to go open carrying a long gun while fishing and hiking on state lands?

Edit: I will be in Colorado, thought I posted this in the Colorado section.

You should be good to go. The only restriction would be that you cannot have a round chambered while the gun is in your vehicle (long guns only, doesn't apply to handguns). Unless there is some obscure hunting law, I'm not aware of anything prohibiting you.

I second PikesPeakMtnMan. You're good to go. Just don't have a round chambered in a vehicle with a long gun/shotgun. Handguns, you can carry with a round chambered here in CO in your vehicle. I see quite a bit of folks carrying in the mountains with a holstered sidearm and a rifle/shotgun slung over their shoulders while out in the national forest. CC still requires a permit or reciprocity with an out of state permit, but OC is welcome here. Just stay out of Denver County!

I'll go ahead and insert the snide comment so the moderators don't need to get around to it.

LONG GUN CARRY CONVERSATION IS PROHIBITTED!!!
