The I team from Channel 8 would like to do a news piece on Open Carry!

I just left from a meeting with Coleen McCarty and crew from channel 8 in Vegas. I have worked with them before, and have had good results. They wanted to attend a "get together" with their cameras. Last time it was channel 3 and we walked on the strip, this time I say we go to Fremont Street, (it's a little less walking) We have always represented ourselves well, so I see no "bad press" issues, this piece will be part of a large scale coverage of guns. I suggested we do it 1-19-13 I think that even goes with "gun appreciation day that someone posted about. we could even end up on the news that night.

    Date: 1/19/2013
    Time: 7.00 PM
Place: on Fremont at Main street, Near Golden Gate Casino.
Activity Walk around, talk with the news. Have dinner? Socialize with OC'ers

It's a bit cold for OC for me. I would have to plan around that, I guess.

I'm still on the fence about going.

I want to, but I don't. Are there more details about it, or will we just figure out what we are going to do after we get there?

Get something to eat at the Heart Attack Grill is always an option.

    The place is pretty tasty.

I am all for it. LOL. I just don't want to see Merlin "get penalized" again. That was funny but scary!

    Just FYI...

Among the issues, hamburgers stored at the wrong temperature. Plus a mold-like substance was growing in the ice and an unapproved cotton candy machine was being used.
    Mmmmm...

It is not going to be as cold then as it is now, http://www.weather.com/weather/tenda...+NV+89108:4:US

There are many places to eat, I would like to try HAG as I have not, but we have eaten in the diner inside the Golden Gate as well with 0 issues. I bet we will figure it out. Sounds like this will be a good time!

The hamburgers are killer. (Taste and size) The all you can eat fries are a health food nuts nightmare, fried in lard and taste great. I had their hamburger in the original one in Chandler Az. Check that one out on their web page.
They did make the dirty dinner one time. The owner has a large following and long time reputation I doubt he would allow a second bad report. I would be willing to try them.

Only thing I don't like about HAG is that there's not much of a selection and it isn't very kids friendly for little ones. We may have to bring our two kids

Is this still on? I'll be training with Roger Phillips in Boulder City during the day but I should be able to make it to Fremont Street by 7:00 tomorrow night.

I can now confirm I am in. I will be in town and I will bring a friend. He is a VERY pro-gun guy, and the estate manager for one of Vegas' most affluent residents. But he doesn't like attention, so he almost never OCs. But he's willing to come with me tomorrow night, so count on both of us.

    1900 near the Golden Gate!

My number is S78-oSS2, local area code, if anyone needs to be able to find me depending on how crowded it is.

I'll come out. We should also go to this Rally thing at noon. I'll be going.

Just be careful what they say and how you say it. They just did an article on gun protestors and had some misinformation about private sales at a gun show. Dont give bad media the chance to make us look bad after all our efforts to do the opposite.

And we'll be wearing six-guns. This is NV, after all.

I think we need to let Tread, Dave, take the lead on any interviews.

Yes, but don't be scared to open your mouth if approached individually. We are each still lawfully-armed adults and don't want the appearance of being sheep of a different fold.

    Short, succinct answers are best.

"Why do you carry a gun?" is the most likely question. Don't wait until it is asked of you before thinking of the best way to put the answer.

Telling them to go ask Dave instead is not going to look good.
