I am a long time Linux user. This story puts together two things I am interested in, well done!

I know a bit offtopic, but I thought some here would appreciate a look at what's coming potentially.

Advanced tracking.
Remote proximity disabling (walk into a building and your gun stops working)
Biometric enabling of firearm

Some ideas are quite crazy but it proves companies are already working on new ideas.

That is the most ridiculous article I've read in quite a while! The technology is nowhere close to what this moron is suggesting :cuss:

MUCH cheaper($100ish assuming you have a laptop and gun), but requires a bit of DIY knowhow but i see no reason why it couldnt be done.

note, not very smart for use with a real firearm presently, possibly not legal(almost assuredly if it shoots somebody or something it shouldnt), but when the project is video game controller capable and reliable it could serve as something for disabled hunters and any other lawful purpose, or just plain ole fun when mounted on a big enough r/c vehicle.
